2011 in front of City Lights Bookstore in San Francisco. This is the place where Burroughs, Kerouac, and Ginsburg used to all hang out. They were just the founding members of the Beat Poetry era in the United States, otherwise known as my heroes.
So you’ll see from the first caption on this page that I love the written word. I cherish it. I consume it. I live from it. I could go on sounding like an arrogant Literature Major, but that would be incorrect. I majored in English with a concentration in Creative Writing.
The difference is, I don’t just want to read other peoples work, I want write work that other people will read.
Since the publishing route hasn’t worked out yet, here I’ve been blogging along for a couple of years (March 2009). I’ve found that although not for everyone, being completely open and honest about my life in a public forum has kept me accountable to some extent. I have in no way shape or form become perfect about habits or lifestyle, but I have become a better person from realizations on this blog.
I can get caught up in trends, bad chick lit, teen paranormal romance, and Grey’s Anatomy Marathons on Lifetime. I find that being brutally honest will get you the same response, which is not always what you want. I find Sugar coating things can be more damaging.
I am not apologetic on who I am, although at times defensive, it comes from insecurities I have in every aspect of my life. Show me understanding, and I will try to see it your way.
I’m not the easiest to get along with, work with, or be married to. I’m just trying every day.
