I decided to take yesterday off for exercise as I was tired, feeling lazy, and really wanted a day where I wasn’t running around crazy or having a hard workout. So today I am doing my long run of 6.5 miles (Still working up the mileage) and then having dinner in town with a friend and TPWSNBN.
I decided to punish myself for not exercising by watching “The Time Travelers Wife”. For those of you who think watching a movie isn’t punishment, I sob like a freaking baby during this movie, and am ruined for the day after watching it. I was a big fan of the book and the movie doesn’t seem to resonate the same with me, but something about the ending of the movie kills me – Even though it’s not the same as the book.
Another movie I can’t get off my mind? V for Vendetta. I never pretended to be normal in any regard, but this is where I am terribly weird. When I really like a movie or a book, reality after said movie or book seems bleak. I tend to envelop myself in said movie and book for days after their completion to stave off the impending boringness of my life. I’ve come to memorize certain scenes of the movie, songs, quotes, and parts of the character’s history in the film that interest me. I am intrigued mostly, by V because this Guy Fawkes mask is now also the face of “Anonymous” which if you don’t know what that is, it’s an unorganized group of people who are attempting to un-censor the media, or whatever. I refuse to read any of it because frankly, the world is scary enough with the sugar coating. I don’t need the whole truth. That and my work would most likely have an issue with that popping up randomly on my computer.
But alas.. I love that movie. I think the voice of V is the most interesting.. because I keep picturing Elrond (or whatever) from LOTR. Whoops.
Plan of the Day
- Breakfast: English Muffin w/ PB, Coffee
- Snack: Apple
- Lunch: Chicken Wrap w/ Hummus, Baby Carrots, Yogurt, Grapes?
- Snack: Banana
- Dinner: Out – Circa at Clarendon – I’m going for the Mixed Greens Salad and Seared Tuna
- Activity: 6.5 miles on the treadmill. Until my legs are completely 100% I am hesitant to run outside for long distances. Next weekend is my 5k so I plan on doing one more run outside before that, but after that I have a month till the MCM 10k. I’ll get some long runs outside on those weeks – promise!
Tomorrow is Dog Grooming Day! Then random festivities of the day – most likely errands. Sunday I think we are gardening again. I plan on doing either Insanity or NTC on Saturday and Sunday and then back to running Monday. I think I make my weekends feel shorter because I am already thinking about next week. Only 2 weeks and some hours till we leave for England – I am so incredibly excited about it. Like it’s actually happening. You plan something for so long and then when it actually happens you are almost surprised at it.
Off to listen to more Cat Power and Ingrid Michaelson. Here’s to not crying at work!
