Why am I not here?

Although I am happy to be home with my family and such, today has been hard knowing that there is a beach somewhere with fruity drinks and nice waves, and I can’t be on it.  Although I never considered myself a beach person, the act of sleeping/reading on a beach (whilst slathering on sunscreen every hour) and simply being calm and relaxed is something so incredibly joyful.

I liked the idea of running around in a beach cover up.

This trip actually gave me a huge lift in my self esteem.  As someone who never ever ever gets in a bathing suit, let alone on a public beach, I felt a bit liberated, running around in one for 3 days.  I wore cover ups, sure, but nothing like I was used to wearing.  Normally in the summer I am jeans and tee-shirts.  So this was a big deal for me.  I never bear my legs, but they saw a lot of sunshine this go around.

I am looking forward to expanding my horizons of vacation spots to the beach and seeing where that takes me.

You know, now that I have a swim suit and all.
