29 before 29

I’m a bit late on this.. but I had to come up with my list of goals before my 29th birthday next year!

  1. Get to Goal Weight – This shouldn’t be that hard.  Though it so is.  I have 28.2 pounds to go.  I have almost a year to do it.  It’s time to buckle down and quit this bitch of over eating and trying to exercise out a bad diet.  I need to gain control.
  2. Run a Marathon – I’m signed up for the marathon on March 16, 2013.  So that part is over.  Now I just have to train and get it done.  It’s only 26.2 miles.  That’s only two half marathons.  Or 42km.  Or from my house to work and back part of the way.  See?  No Biggie.
  3. Finish my Book that I am currently Writing – whether anyone else ever reads it or not.
  4. Get into a Bikini – I know this seems frivolous.  Tell that to my self esteem.  My Birthday is in July, so my ultimate goal is to go to a pool or something on or before my birthday in a bikini.  The rules of this is just that it’s a two piece.  It doesn’t have to be skanky.
  5. SEE SNOW PATROL LIVE.  This will happen somehow.  It will really suck if they disband and I have to stalk Gary Lightbody around Ireland.  I mean seriously.
  6. Be a Better Wife.  I know I can be hard on TPWSNBN at times, and I need to chill out on that.  He has done so much for me, without much in return.  So I want to make a point of being better to him starting now and moving forward.
  7. Break the mold on my current cooking.  I need to start cooking different meals, because I am getting bored with my cooking.  I’m going to start this next week on Monday and Tuesday with two new to me cooking meals (Seared Ahi Tuna with rice and spinach and a soy ginger sauce & Roasted Egg plant with tomato sauce and pasta).
  8. Migrate my blog to self hosting.  I keep saying I am going to do this and then, I never do.  I am going to do this.  (I’ll be crazily running around July 14th of next year trying to migrate my blog in time for my birthday next year. Just you wait.)
  9. Become less addicted to Sugar.  This is a hard one.  I have a major sweet tooth that needs to be stopped.  Or at least controlled with Fruit.  I can’t keep eating the way I am eating and expect any result.  It’s really depressing when people who started dieting after you did are almost at goal, and you are sitting stagnant, in your maintaining/gaining phase.  Need to stop the chocolate.
  10. Be more positive.  I am the queen of negativity, especially to myself.  I need to relearn how to be a more positive person.  I need to learn to accept myself, and things will fall into place.  At least I am told they will.
  11. Starting today, complete the 100 day tracking and healthy move challenge! I’ll explain this after my list/in another post.
  12. Give up Fake Sugars.  This will be tough.  I am not a big fan of diet soda, as in I can live without it, but I am of my coffee.  I actually don’t like real sugar in my coffee.  I am going to try and see if I can just start drinking it with a bit of milk and be done with it that way.
  13. Do More Charity.  I don’t even give enough money away at this point.  This needs to stop.  I need to get more involved.  Any ideas?
  14. Have people to the house more often.  We have a great house, but never invite people over.  We’re losers.
  15. Go on A Picnic.
  16. Have more dates with the husband that don’t involve Target or Parent stops.
  17. Go to a show on Broadway.
  18. GET INTO GRAD SCHOOL.
  19. Visit Portland, Oregon.
  20. Go an entire week at work with only wearing dresses and skirts.
  21. Paint the Master bathroom.
  22. Read all 7 of the Harry Potter Books.
  23. Have a spontaneous day with The Husband.
  24. Stand at the base of the Eiffel Tower in Paris, France
  25. May a double layer cake – complete with how it should look in a magazine.
  26. Watch the Sunrise with the Husband.
  27. Paint something to hang in the house.
  28. Get this blog to have 100 subscribers.
  29. Find out what it is that truly makes me happy, and cling to it like white on rice.

Obviously I might not be able to hit all of these but, hey, a girl can try!

  1. Love the list! Can I make a couple suggestions? :)
1.Get to Goal Weight – You can do it!!! I’ve been watching Extreme Makeover: Weight Loss Edition and these people are losing 200+lbs in a year, so you totally got this!! Just plan and follow through! It won’t be easy, but just know that you can look back and see how far you’ve come. You already lost so much weight, so just gotta find what works!
    7. Break the mold on my current cooking. (I signed up for a ton of healthy recipe sites, and often bookmark the ones that I know include ingredients I’ll eat lol.. We have a white board at home that we set up a meal plan for the week, and try to stick to it. Cooking at home at least 4x a week is awesome, plus there’s usually leftovers for lunch which makes it easy to plan lunches, too!)
    9. Become less addicted to Sugar. (I haven’t done this, as sweets aren’t my weakness – but I’ve read a few bloggers talking about the 21-day Sugar Detox it. Just type that into the wordpress blog finder thing and you can find tons of people doing it. They also have a Facebook group and start a new challenge once a month so you can do it with a group of people who are going through the exact same thing as you at the same time)
    18. Go to Grad School. (YAY! I love school! hehe.. I put in my time in undergrad and grad school, but my advice is DO NOT GET STUDENT LOANS. Try your best to take classes when you can and avoid loans if possible. life lesson i wish I knew!!)

  2. #19 is my fave too. You should totally do it when I’m at VidaVeganCon. We could get some awesome food while I’m up there. #BebeGoesWestKellyGoesNorthErikaStaysPut :)

  3. I don’t know if my last attempt went through.

#19 is my favourite too. You should come out during VidaVeganCon – I’ll be in PDX too. #BebeGoesWestKellyGoesNorthErikaStaysPut (Okay, it’s kind of a long hashtag… How about #BebeGoesWest)
